Pet Staycation: Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong Review

Pet Staycation: Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong Review

Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong fully embraces its surrounding Peranakan heritage. It's eclectic, it's vibrant, and it's pet-friendly! Check out our pet staycation review.

Drawing inspiration from the surrounding Katong neighbourhood, Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong is bursting with colour and history. Take a break from work and bring your pup along on this eclectic experience with their pet staycation package (from S$400++ per night).

Hotel Indigo Lobby

We visited the hotel with our friend's Yorkshire Terrier, Brie for a 2-day, 1-night stay. Check in was smooth and they offered us welcome drinks and a Silversky pet amenity kit worth S$60 before we headed up to our room.

Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong has designated rooms for pet staycations and does the necessary deep clean in between guests. Each pet staycation room allows one pet up to 8kg.

For those who drive, there's also complimentary parking per stay.

Hotel Indigo RoomWhen you first enter the room, you will be greeted by the various Peranakan furniture and elements. There were a shophouse mural on the wall, geometric and floral motifs peppered around the room, and a cute tingkat containing welcome kueh and fruits.

Even the pet bed and bowl, designed by our favourite ohpopdog, were on theme.

In-room amenities at Hotel Indigo

After settling down, we brought Brie out to takeaway lunch with us. We ordered Janggut Laksa and Rojak from Roxy Square next door and headed back to the room to eat. The food was delicious.

We relaxed in the room until dinner time. The staycation package includes a S$50 credit per night for in-room or alfresco dining at the Hotel Indigo Garden.

We decided to dine alfresco and headed down to the garden with Brie. We were immediately greeted by our server and she offered Brie a bowl of water.

The garden was super breezy and the food was great. We particularly enjoyed the Grilled Assam Halibut Risotto and Dry Bak Kut Teh. Service was friendly but slightly slow as it was a busy evening. Despite the bustling dinner service indoors, they were attentive enough to clear our plates and ensure we had cold water throughout the meal.

Food at Baba Chews, Hotel Indigo

By the dessert course, we were tired and decided to have it in our room. The servers were happy to oblige and our desserts arrived in our room just minutes after us. I loved the churros paired with pandan dulce and butterfly pea ice cream. The fried dough was coated with cinnamon sugar, perfectly crispy outside and warm and soft inside - a must-try in my book! The Chendol was refreshing as well.

The next morning, we took Brie on a morning stroll to East Coast Park to catch the sunrise. She walked more than 3km and we were so proud of her!

Breakfast at the alfresco area of Baba Chews, Hotel Indigo

The room comes with complimentary breakfast for 2 so we returned to the garden with Brie after the stroll. We could choose from an a la carte menu and also fill our plates with a selection of food and drinks from the breakfast buffet table. Breakfast was pretty standard - From eggs and bacon to pancakes to congee. Take your pick!

Shortly after breakfast, Lionel had a swim at the rooftop pool while I did some unwinding with Brie at Rooftop 88. It's uncommon for dogs to be allowed near the pool even in a pet-friendly hotel. We knew we had to make full use of this opportunity.

Drinks with your pup at the rooftop

What was more, they had an interesting cocktail menu. We ordered the Nyonya Margarita and Sapphire Rendezvous. I loved the Margarita, which had just the right amount of sour and kick. So good!

We managed to get a late check-out so we went for a walk around the Katong area and even managed to squeeze in a plate of Oyster Omelette at AlibabaR. You will never go hungry during this staycation.

Overall, we had a good time at Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong. We really appreciate their efforts in making the hotel as pet-friendly as possible. Our only hope is for pet parents to follow the hotel's rules and be considerate to other guests.

By being mindful pet parents, we might encourage more establishments to make their space pet-friendly.
